Assay

Every claim, with its evidence.

Record what changed, link every figure to where it came from, and build reports your board and funders can check for themselves.

Honest numbers

Four rules, in every report.

Assay will not let a chart say more than its evidence. Assay keeps results and forecasts distinct, and links figures to evidence.

  1. 01

Parts make a whole only when they share one unit.

People are not added to dollars. Hours are not added to visits.

  2. 02

    Never add money across kinds.

Direct and indirect funding, or two organisations, are shown side by side, never summed.

  3. 03

A forecast is never a result.

It is hatched, and labelled "Forecast, not a result", every time.

  4. 04

Every chart has a key in words.

Colour is never the only way to tell two things apart.

Results and forecasts

See the trend, and the uncertainty.

Results are solid. Forecasts are hatched and labelled. Anyone reading the report can tell the difference at a glance, in colour or in black and white.
